I highly recommend freezing some in ice cube trays then just popping out a few cubes at a time depending on how much you need! You can defrost in the microwave or on the hob.
I’ve made creamy pesto pasta using our freezer stash more times than I can count, me and Casey love it! I add a few cubes straight into a pan over a low-medium heat with a splash of milk while I cook some pasta in a saucepan, then chuck the cooked pasta in and mix it all together! I add some pasta water to loosen it up if needed and usually add some extra cheese, cream cheese or chopped veggies like tomatoes or red onion too, or maybe some cooked chicken pieces.
